Specialty Areas
Children, Adolescents, and Young Adults
Our therapeutic interactions with our clients revolve around sensibility and non-judgment. We aim to meet children, adolescents, and young adults where they are, allow them to feel heard and understood, and use therapeutic skills to help empower them to make healthy decisions.
This process may sound serious, and it can be at times. However, we like to include art and play into sessions in order to help the environment feel comfortable. Additionally, we enjoy integrating yoga, and mindfulness activities into the therapy process in order to lower impulsivity and increase emotional awareness.
Emotionally Healthy Children = Emotionally Healthy Adults
We believe happier and healthier children equal happier and healthier adults. Thus, addressing the emotional needs of children and adolescents early on is crucial. Research shows that our brain continues to develop well into our mid-twenties. Since a person's brain is so malleable during childhood and young adulthood, the powerful opportunity exists to set the emotionally healthy groundwork that will benefit a person throughout their life. At Cornerstone Therapy, we specialize in working with individuals ranging in age from 4 to their mid twenties. After all, scientists believe that adolescence lasts until the age of 24.
Moms
We see you offering up your time, energy, and resources to your family, and we are inspired by the way you show patience and selflessness in even the most trying times. You show up for your children in such impressive ways, and now, we would like to show up for you. As a result, Cornerstone Therapy is now offering counseling to moms. Parenting can be a truly amazing experience. However, we recognize that it isn't without challenges, so knowthat we are here to help support, process, and assist you along the way.
