Our Story
In 2016, while working as a school therapist, Laura Fonseca became aware of the limited counseling resources available for children and adolescents outside of the school environment. Motivated to bridge this gap, she founded Cornerstone Therapy, dedicating her after-school hours to supporting young people in the community.
By 2020, as the world faced the unprecedented challenges of COVID-19, the need for care, kindness, and support among children and adolescents became even more pressing. The disruption of routines, relationships, and stability left many struggling to adapt to an uncertain world. Recognizing this growing need, Laura expanded Cornerstone Therapy to better serve the evolving mental health needs of the community.
Today, Cornerstone Therapy has grown into a practice we’re truly passionate about, with a dedicated team of five therapists, one billing assistant, and one emotional support dog. Our mission remains as strong as it was in 2016: to help children and adolescents build a strong emotional foundation. Growing up today comes with its challenges, and we are here to provide the guidance and support they need along the way.
