Our Treatment Approach

The Cornerstone Difference

At Cornerstone Therapy, our mission is to help children, adolescents, and young adults build an emotionally healthy foundation. With our relaxed person-centered approach and evidence-based practices, we provide a safe space for clients to develop the therapeutic skills to thrive in their daily lives. Growing up today can be difficult, and we are here to provide guidance and support along the way.

We work with each person’s strengths to promote change.

At Cornerstone Therapy, we work with children, adolescents, young adults, and their families to help them regain a sense of balance and well-being. By challenging negative thought patterns and providing the therapeutic tools necessary to change unhealthy behaviors, we encourage children and adolescents to understand their own beliefs and actions and take ownership of them.

Treatment Modalities

Our therapists use a blend of evidence-based therapeutic techniques including acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), exposure-response prevention (ERP), mindfulness-based cognitive behavioral therapy (MCBT), motivational interviewing (MI), and psychodynamic psychotherapy (PDT) in order to meet each client's needs. We realize that one size does not fit all when it comes to therapy, and our therapists individualize each child's and adolescent's therapeutic experience so that, together, we can be successful.

Olive is here to help!

Cornerstone Therapy’s emotional support dog, Olive, can assist in creating less stress, improved communication, and increased comfort with talking about difficult things during therapy sessions. Olive’s presence can help facilitate growth, improve mood, and decrease anxiety. While Olive is only five pounds, the impact she has outweighs her size.
