Counseling
We offer a range of counseling services for children, adolescents, young adults, and their families. Sessions are typically 50 minutes. Extended sessions are available upon request.
Counseling Services
One-on-one: The client meets with one of our therapists one-on-one. For our younger clients, we request parents take part in the first ten minutes and last ten minutes of the session. This time allows parents the opportunity to share insight, express concerns, and learn helpful tools and strategies to support their child.
Parent-supported: A therapist leads the session with a parent present.
This type of session can be especially helpful for the first few meetings with younger children who are often shy and hesitant to talk to unfamiliar adults. This is very normal and totally okay. Building trust takes time.
Family-supported: We are experienced in mediating difficult conversations between children, adolescents, young adults, and their trusted adults. In situations where separation or divorce is ongoing or upcoming, we can facilitate a conversation with a child or adolescent and both parties.
Parent consultation: Meet with a therapist to share your observations and worries you’ve noticed outside therapy sessions. These sessions can help provide perspective on what a child does – or doesn’t – say in session. This time can also be used to identify at-home strategies that would most benefit your child.
